Lady Cake Suggests… The Borderers!
This time I am going off piste and sharing an amazing B&B. The breakfast is brilliant but it’s also a fabulous place to stay.
The place is The Borderers, which is in the middle of the city of Brecon. It’s an old coaching house with a secure car park at the rear. This is accessed by going through a gateway protected by high, solid wooden gates which leads to the parking, perfect for keeping your pride and joy safe, out of sight of passers by. This is something I always look for when I am staying anywhere.
Gail & Kev, The Perfect Hosts!
The B&B is run by a lovely couple, Gail and Kev, who could not make you more welcome. The breakfast is outstanding! The full Welsh got a massive thumps up from our meat eating friends last year. We asked Gail if she could accommodate a vegan diet and she literally pulled out all the stops. We had something different every day and it was all fantastic.
The property is next door to an Aldi for that all important room picnic. There are also a range of pubs, cafes, etc. in the centre which is only a couple of minutes away, so you can easily get a coffee, a cake or a full meal.
All Roads Lead to Beautiful Brecon
Brecon itself is surrounded by the most amazing roads, which ever way you go you are sure to find somewhere amazing to ride. It’s one of my favourite places to visit, so I am now thinking this recommendation might be a mistake as I may find it’s fully booked if you all decide to venture to Brecon.
Until next time!
