About Gixy…

(drop me a text, as I don’t have access to my phone when I’m at work)

Biking is definitely in the blood. Both my Mam and Dad were bikers back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. In fact, my Mam only stopped riding when she was 7 months’ pregnant with my brother. Dad kept his last bike in the back yard and I had to watch it rust away, till one day I came home from school to find it gone to the scrap yard in the sky. I cried, as I wanted to clean it up and ride it when I was older.

Fast forward to 2001 and 3 sons of my own later and the bug bit me. Having passed my cbt i was addicted.. in 2003 i passed my direct access. Sadly my Mam passed away before she saw me pass.

In 2009 and on my 3rd trip to the Isle of Man, I met my wonderful hubby, who swept me off my feet. He is also a biker. In 2010 I moved to the island, leaving behind my 2 eldest sons in the North East, and married Dave during TT week; it really was the most fantastic day.

Now that my youngest son has passed his cbt, there are 3 bikers in the household.

The Curvies have been a fantastic bunch of ladies and made me so welcome and I don’t know how I would have managed without them. From helping me with the wedding to celebrating my 40th birthday, they are always on hand to laugh at you when you fall and help pick you back up too (only after they have taken some pictures and tagged them on facebook)

I work full time in a bank, and it takes me less than 1 minute to walk to work each day. We have 2 cats ( or is it that the 2 cats live in the house and have 3 slaves? I am never too sure).

I ride a GSX650f; in the past I have had a GS500, known as the donkey. We did not get on and soon parted company, and before that I had a CB500 that I loved and regretted having to part with. I also had a scooter for a few years and managed to clock up over 24,000 miles. The OH has a Triumph Bonneville and the boy has a Yamaha TW125.

It is a great honor to be asked to take over from Tina as rep, I just hope I can live up to expectations, and I am pleased to say that MeShell is going to be on hand to help out with the social side of things.
